Phuong Dong Tran

Phuong Dong Tran is an IETS Fellow with nearly 30 years of professional experience. Their expertise spans aSEAN economic integration; regional connectivity; energy transition and carbon neutrality; trade facilitation; sustainable development.

Tran is a regional policy specialist supporting research and cooperation on energy transition, carbon neutrality, connectivity and ASEAN priorities.

Previously, Tran held senior, advisory or committee roles including senior Policy Fellow, Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia; Director of the Sectoral Development Directorate and other senior leadership roles at the ASEAN Secretariat; senior positions in Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Tran holds qualifications including Master of Commerce (Honours) in Economics, University of Wollongong; Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague.
