Biswa Nath Bhattacharyay
Biswa Nath Bhattacharyay is an IETS Fellow with more than 35 years of professional experience. Their expertise spans development economics; sustainable development; climate and infrastructure finance; central banking; regional cooperation; financial-sector development and financial inclusion. Experience across Asia, including Brunei Darussalam, Qatar, India, Kuwait, China and Mongolia.
Bhattacharyay is a senior development economist and international policy adviser; leads and contributes to research, policy, training and capacity-building work on Asian infrastructure, regional cooperation, green growth, financial inclusion and climate-related financial risk.
Previously, Bhattacharyay held senior, advisory or committee roles including advisor/Director-level roles at the Asian Development Bank and Asian Development Bank Institute; work with central banks and projects involving ADB, IMF, UNESCAP, JBIC and international universities.
Bhattacharyay holds qualifications including PhD, Iowa State University (1979); MS, Indian Statistical Institute (1975); BS, Indian Statistical Institute (1974).
